Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South organized a prayer program aiming to get rid of dengue fever and to seek blessing from Allah in this regard.
The city Jamaat unit arranged the function at a city auditorium on Sunday as part of the announcement of the party.
The city ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, nayeb e ameer Munjurul Islam Bhiyan and secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, among others, were present on the occasion.
Apart from this, Khilgaon East, Paltan, Motijheel, Khilgaon West, Jatrabari West, Shampur, Kamrangirchar, Hazaribagh South, Bangshal and Demra North units of Jamaat Dhaka City South organized the same program to create awareness among the city people to prevent the dengue outbreak.
Speaking on the occasion, Nurul Islam Bulbul said the dengue has turned into an epidemic across the country as the government has failed to take a collective initiative to prevent the menace.
He also urged the government to provide the treatment for dengue-infected patients as free of cost.
