Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South distributed mosquito nets among poor and needy people to curb and combat mosquito-borne dengue disease.
City nayeb-e-ameer Munjurul Islam Bhuiyan handed over these mosquito nets among the helpless people at a ceremony in the capital’s Khilgaon area on Sunday.
Khilgaon East Thana ameer Muhammad Shajahan chaired the event.
Speaking at the event, Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan said the upcoming national elections must be held under a non-partisan caretaker government to establish the rights of the people.
He said that the number of dengue cases has reached all-time high in Dhaka city due to management, malgovernance and irresponsibility of the city corporations.
The central Jamaat leader also urged both DNCC and DSCC to take immediate action to curb the rising dengue cases.
