Government’s widespread corruption, inconsiderate decisions triggering catastrophe in power sector: Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South demonstrated in the capital against the catastrophe in the power sector as a result of the government’s rampant corruption, mismanagement and foolhardy decisions.
The demonstration was held at the capital’s Saheb Bazar intersection of Old Dhaka and ended with a short rally on Thursday morning.
The protest programme was led by the party central working committee member and Dhaka City South Nayeb-e- Ameer Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan .
The city assistant secretaries Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Kamal Hossain, city working committee members Hafizur Rahman, Abdur Rahman and Mubarak Hossain, among others, were present at the event.
Speaking at the function, Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan said that the ruling Awami League illegal government has established a dictatorship in the country by snatching and destroying the voting rights of the people.
Forgetting about the people of the country, the government remains busy in bringing their own interests, he said.
As a result of their widespread corruption, mismanagement and hotheaded decisions, the power sector of the country are facing a debacle today, he opined.
In the light of the total demand of the country, instead of generating electricity in the normal process, the government has created this deadlock in the country by solving the electricity shortage through stubborn methods like quick rental, Munjurul added.
He asked the government to immediately remove the mismanagement of the power sector and rescue the people of the country from the ongoing calamity.
