Maulana Masum calls for forging unity to liberate country’s people from incessant oppression
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has called for forging unity among the people, irrespective of religion, caste and creed to get the country’s people from freed from continuous oppression , misrule and malgovernance inflicted by the ruling government for about 15 years.
“ Today, not only Jamaat-e-Islami, but all those who are voicing for Islam and Islamic movement, are becoming victims of painful oppression and torture in jail”, he says.
“The whole country has turned into a’ prison’. So if we want to liberate this country, if we want to save the country, if we want to bring back the golden days in this country, if we want to establish a welfare state based on the Quran and Sunnah, then we have to come forward on the path of struggle, then our freedom will be certainly possible”, he said.
His remarks came at a discussion of holy Ashura organized by Jamaat Dhaka City South unit on Monday.
The program was chaired by the city ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul who is also the party central executive council member.
City secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud conducted the discussion.
City Nayeb-e- Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, Assistant Secretary Dr. Abdul Mannan, city working committee member Abdus Salam, among others, were present at the event.
Speaking at the function as the chief guest, Maulana ATM Masum said from the incident of Karbala, Muslims all over the world get inspired to voice and fight against all sorts of injustice and tyranny.
Whatever the danger may be, it must be faced in the concerted manner . On this path our predecessors struggled, scarified their precious lives. This path is the exact path to true liberation. Peace cannot be established in this unstable and enfeeble world without this path, he pointed out.
ATM Masum said in his speech that once upon a time, Muslims were placed at the top in science. But many achievements of Muslims were kept hidden and did not come in public.
Muslims have abandoned the Qur’an and following man-made rules and legislature. Muslims must come out of all inferiority complex and return to the beautiful and fair well-being of Islam, he mentioned.
In the president’s speech, Nurul Islam Bulbul said the historical event of 10th Muharram makes two things clear to us.
One is that the opposing forces want to end and exterminate the progress of truth and beauty whenever they get a advantage of, he said.
But if you move forward with utmost patience and bravery with unwavering trust and belief in Allah, victory will come. And those, who opposed and hatched conspiracy against Islam, were defeated disgracefully in history, he continued.
Bulbul said Imam Hussain (RA) played an uncompromising role in preventing the infiltration of evil agenda forged by the enemy of Islam .
Even Imam Hussain did not surrender to them, but he sacrificed his precious life to the path of Allah, he stated.
He also said that top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami were killed in false cases. They did not compromise to the enemy of Islam. Like a coward, they even did not think to save their life.
He mentioned that the progress of Islamic movement cannot be stopped through jail, oppression, disappearance and murder.
