Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul on Saturday called upon the government to provide subsidy to public and private hospitals to ensure free treatment of dengue infected patients.
“We are proposing that the government would provide subsidy for dengue treatment free of cost, he said”
His call came at a human chain on creating mass awareness on preventing dengue from the country organized by Sachetan Nagarik Samaj (Conscious Civil Society) in front of the National Press Club in the capital.
The Dhaka City South chief Bulbul was present on the occasion as the chief guest while the convener of Sachetan Nagarik Samaj in Dhaka moderated the function.
Kader Gani Chowdhury, president, a faction of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and Shohidul Islam, general secretary of the union, among others, also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the city chief also criticized the government for its failure to tackle the dengue outbreak utterly and held the two Dhaka city corporations responsible for lacking in their coordination.
Bulbul also stressed the need for creating mass awareness to fight against the dengue menace.
He also urged the government to enlarge her relief fund to ensure free treatment of the country’s dengue infected people.
