Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul on Tuesday said holy Ramadan is the month of moral excellence, self-purification, and piety.
He said “Achieving moral excellence, self-purification and piety is the real teaching of Ramadan. So Muslims should try to attain those qualities during the whole Ramadan relentlessly.”
Helal came up with the statement while speaking a discussion and Iftar Mahfil organized by Dhaka City South on occasion of the significance of holy Ramadan.
Central executive member and city south secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud moderated the function. City working committee member advocate Kamal Hossain, Shamsur Rahman, educationist professor Nurunnabi, worker’s leader Abdus Salam and Kamal Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion.
He also said that “Ramadan is the holy month. Every Muslim’s moral duty is to cooperate with each other in the fasting month. But sadly, a group of dishonest businessmen of the country increased the excessive price of essential commodities through the syndicate. As a result, it is impossible for common people to purchase Sahari and Iftar items.”
He urged the government to reduce the prices of essential commodities and bring it to the tolerable level for the common people.
The Ramadan (the fasting month of Muslim community) is the month of mercy, forgiveness and salvation from the fire of Hell, he said.
He said, “To maintain holiness in Ramadan, we have to earn Takhakya( Allah religious) in worldly life and to lead a life in the light of the Quran for the salvation of hereafter life.
In this month, Allah revealed the Qur’an for guiding mankind and the salvation of eternal life, the central executive member said.
He urged the government to control and curb the prices of essential commodities in this month.
He added, “Taking the teachings from the Ramadan, we have to implement the rights of people and rule of law and eradicate misrule in the country.”
“The month of Ramadan is more important than the other months because the Holy Quran revealed in this month. The best guidebook of Islam, Al-Qur’an, is the best blessing and Mujaja revealed by Allah Almighty, “the Jamaat leader said.
“In the proper followings of the Holy Qur’an, mankind’s only progress and true welfare are solely depended. In the current conflicting world, the Holy Qur’an is the only ways and means of the freedom of humanity,” he said.
“The city Jamaat chief said “He urged all to protect the holiness of Ramadan by stopping and removing all indecency, obscenity and nudity.”
“The government will have to take all the effective steps to close the hotel-restaurant and the theaters and stop publishing obscene posters, and the radio-TV display in high voices for protecting the holiness of Ramadan,” he further said.
Helal said, “Our fasting can also be successful if we can reflect and implement the teachings of holy Ramadan in our personal, family, social and state life.”
He also said that as a part of a deep conspiracy to eradicate Islam from the country, top leaders of the party including Jamaat ameer Maqbool Ahmed and Nayeb Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman have been arrested unjustly and unlawfully. The history of Bangladesh was stigmatized by the brutal killing of top leaders including former Jamaat ameer martyred Matiur Rahman Nizami.
The leader protested and condemned the Israeli gunfire and inhuman massacre that killed more than 60 unarmed Palestinians while protesting the opening of US embassy in the holy city of Jerusalem and also marking the 70th anniversary of the Nakba (catastrophe).
