Make Islamic education compulsory for all Muslims to build them with ideals, morals and release imprisoned scholars: Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud
Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South demonstrated demanding the release of imprisoned Islamic scholars and make Islamic education compulsory at all levels.
The demonstration was held at the city’s Jatrabari area on Tuesday to free imprisoned Islamic scholars and make Islamic education compulsory at all level for the Muslims.
The protest rally was led by the party Central Working Committee member and Dhaka City South Secretary Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud .
The city assistant secretaries Kamal Hossain and Abdul Mannan, working committee members Abdus Salam, Hafizur Rahman, Nizamul Haque and Abdur Rahman, among others, were present at the demonstration.
Speaking at the rally , Dr Masud said though Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country , anti-Islamic forces have been involved in various conspiracies for a long time.
They are conspiring to remove Islam and its morals from the country’s education system, he says.
At present, the anti-Islamic forces are hatching conspiracy to teach atheism by subtly removing the teachings of Islamic ideology from the textbooks, he pointed out.
He also strongly condemned and protested the government’s move to remove Islam and its ideals from the textbook.
At the same time, Islamic scholars are being kept in jails in the country and their voices are being silenced, Dr Masud said.
World famous Islamic scholar Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee has been imprisoned for long. The world renowned Islamic preachers Mufti Kazi Ibrahim, Allama Mamunul Haq, Mufti Amir Hamza and many other scholars have been imprisoned for long time illegally and unlawfully, he said.
Meanwhile, we have noticed that Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Prof. Golam Parwar, secured bail five times by different court orders , but he was detained repeatedly at the jail gate, he mentioned.
Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, a prominent Alemeddin, is not getting bail, he alleged.
Our party demands unconditional and immediate release of these esteemed people, including Islamic scholars, before Eid-ul-Azha, Dr Masud stated.
