Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South secretary Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud laid emphasis on planting trees across the country to protect its people from the climate change impact.
“We will plant more trees this monsoon season. We will build our beloved Bangladesh as a livable land by planting trees. We have already planted thousands of saplings of fruit, forest and medicinal plants in different places including the capital Dhaka”, he said.
Dr Masud was speaking at a tree plantation campaign as the chief guest held in the capital’s Kadamtali area on June 26, 2022.
Muhammad Kamal Hossain, Assistant Secretary, Jamaat Dhaka City South also spoke as the special guest.
Jamaat Kadamtali Uttar Thana Abdur Rahim Jiban was also present at the event.
Speaking at the event , Dr. Masud said that trees are a great regulator to keep the whole world in balance.
Trees are our dearest friends, because we release carbon dioxide which is absorbed by trees and we take in oxygen from trees which leaves trees, he pointed out.
“That’s why it is our responsibility to be kind to the tree. We encourage everyone to plant trees”, he added.
