Nurul Islam Bulbul, a member of the central executive council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Amir of Dhaka City South, provided financial assistance to the families of those killed in a road accident and electrocution in Chapainawabganj.
Chapainawabganj district working commitee member Abdul Khaleq and its municipal secretary Moktar Hossain, among others, were present at the function on Tuesday( June 21).
While handing over the financial assistance, Nurul Islam Bulbul said that it was the responsibility of the government to solve all the sorts of problems of the people and give them all kinds of required support.
But the people are being deprived of the welfare from the state as there is no people-friendly government in the country, he pointed out.
Basically, the state has lost its pro-people character due to the absence of rule of law, democracy and democratic values, the Dhaka City South chief said.
He said although the activism of the state was essential during any calamity and crisis of the nation, it is showing absolute negligence and indifference in discharging its responsibilities.
In this situation, Jamaat-e-Islami as an ideological and people-oriented political party cannot remain silent in any way, he stated.
And out of that responsibility towards the masses, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami continuse trying to stand by the helpless, needy, neglected ,downtrodden and distressed people with our limited capacity, he added.
