Speaking at the protest rally, Dr Masud said that the derogatory comments on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) made by India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s national spokesperson Nupur Sharma and the party’s Delhi branch media chief Naveen Jindal have insulted the heart of the entire Muslim Ummah.
Terming that the Prophet’s honor was more valuable than every Muslim’s life, he also said “As a result, the entire Muslims world cannot tolerate the slightest disrespect to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)”.
The BJP government is threatening the world by creating communal riots while the communal party is a threat not only to the world but also to India itself, he stated.
“We, as a part of the Muslim Ummah, are extremely angry and distressed as the ruling Awami League government has not yet protested officially even though various countries of the world have protested against the hatred and insult towards our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)”, he stressed.
“We called upon the Bangladesh government, as one of largest Muslim states in the world, to immediately pass a resolution condemning it in the National Assembly and summoning the Indian Ambassador, he said.
Bangladesh as the state must strongly condemn and protest against this insult against our most beloved prophet Muhammad (peach be upon him), he added.
