Conspiracy against Islamic scholars is mainly against Islam, Bangladesh: Dr. Masud

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South protested against the heinous plot perpetrated by so-called organization of ‘Gono Commission’ against the country’s top 116 Islamic scholars.
The demonstration, led by Jamaat Dhaka City South secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, was held at Gulistan’s area on May 17, 2022 in protest of the deep-rooted conspiracy against the top 116 Islamic scholars.
City assistant secretaries Advocate Md. Helal Uddin, Md. Delwar Hossain and Kamal Hossain, city working committee members Abdus Salam, Aminul Islam and Dr. Mubarak Hossain, among others, were present at the demonstration.
Speaking at the demonstration, Dr Masud said his party strongly condemns and protests against the indecent remarks and bad campaign of the country’s top 116 Islamic scholars in the white paper published by the so-called ‘Gono Commission’.
By hatching conspiracy against those eminent Islamic scholars of the country, the so-called organization has basically taken a stance against Islam and the country, he said.
The people want to know the real purpose of such conspiratorial activities against the top Islamic scholars of the country, he continued.
He further said that the present Awami government came to power by robbing votes in the dark of night and that is why they have no love for the people of the country.
Dr Masud called upon all to play a united role in protecting the country from this illegitimate government.
He said “The white paper published by ‘Gono Commission’ for the Investigation of Fundamentalist and Communal Terrorism on May 11 has spoken in a very disrespectful and indecent manner about the country’s top clerics.”
The white paper has shown the extremes of their arrogant attitude towards the ulama-mashayekhs and waijins of the country, he says.
Their audacity has gone too far. By taking a stand against these top scholars and mashayekhs, they have basically taken a stand against Islam. We strongly protest against such conspiratorial activities against the leading scholars of the country, he pointed out.
The scholars of this country have never had and still have nothing to do with fundamentalist activities, communal terrorism, arson, irregularities, corruption and money laundering. The scholarly society of the country is always in favor of the country and the nation, according to him.
They have played a vocal role in promoting faith, Islam, religious values and Islamic culture. When there was a conspiracy to create anarchy by simultaneously bombing the country, the Alem Samaj unitedly formed a resistance, he again said.
As part of a deeper conspiracy against Islam and the ulama-mashayekhs, a class of so-called intellectuals has published a white paper under the auspices of the government. It is necessary to build protest and resistance against these conspiracies through joint efforts, he said.
He also called on the people of the country to unite and build a mass resistance against all conspiracies and malpractices against the country’s top clerics, Waizine Keram and Islam.
