Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Secretary Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud expressed concern over the loss of life and property in the blast, building collapse and fire in the capital’s Moghbazar area.
In a statement issued on Monday they also said “We are deeply saddened and shocked at the news of the building collapse and fire that killed at least seven people and injured more than 50 people after an explosion in a building in the area”.
Both the leaders prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of those killed in the blast and fire and for the speedy recovery of the injured, expressing deep sympathy to their bereaved families and the injured.
They also called upon the concerned authorities to provide adequate compensation to the families of those killed in the blasts and fire and provide adequate financial assistance including proper treatment to the injured.
The leaders further said in the statement that due to the negligence and mismanagement of the agencies in charge of the government, repeated incidents are happening all over the country.
Nurul and Masud urged the government to set up a high-powered commission of inquiry to investigate the cause of such accidents and prevent recurrence.
They also called on the government to find out the real cause of the incident and take precautionary measures to this end.
