Jamaat Dhaka City South inaugurated tree plantation program
Announcing the inauguration of the Bulbul tree plantation program, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul on Saturday said Dhaka needs to be turned into a green city to maintain the balance of nature.
Terming that trees play the biggest role in creating a balanced and pollution-free environment, he said it is important to maintain the balance of the environment in a normal and peaceful life.
Our Prophet Muhammad (Sm) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged and instructed in various Hadiths to plant trees and take care of them to maintain the balance of the environment.
He also cited a hadith says, “If a Muslim plants a tree or produces a crop and eats from it a person or a bird or an animal, it will be considered as a charity for the grower.”
The slogan of tree plantation program is styled Plant a Tree, Save the Country.
The city Jamaat chief also distributed saplings at a program in the capital’s Demra area on Saturday morning.
Jamaat Dhaka City South secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud moderated the function.
City assistant secretary Md. Delwar Hossain, city working committee members Abdus Sabur Fakir, Professor Mokarram Hossain, Demra Thana ameer Mohammad Ali, Paltan thana secretary Shahin Ahmad Khan, among others, also were present at the function.
Speaking at the occasion, Nurul Islam Bulbul also said that Dhaka’s environment situation is worsening day by day due to different types of dangerous pollution like air pollution and sound pollution.
In this situation, in the interest of protecting the city, everyone, regardless of party affiliation, should take part in the work of protecting and preserving the environment, he points out.
To this end, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has taken initiative to distribute tree saplings among the common people. At the same time, we want to make Dhaka a green city by planting and distributing a large number of trees, he insisted.
He urged the people at all levels to play their due role and do their responsibility as citizens to save the country from environmental disasters.
Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said in the interest of keeping the environment of our beloved motherland Bangladesh sound and habitable, everyone should plant trees.
Environmentalists believe that the Dhaka city corporations’ area is becoming environmentally unbalanced, he said.
“We can’t sit still with that problem. Jamaat is a responsible organization, we will definitely play a role in protecting the environment through tree plantation”, he added.
