Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud have expressed their deep shock at the death of the ex-principal of Misbahul Ulum Kamil Madrasah Dhaka Maulana Sirajul Islam. He was 90.
The deceased, who was also a senior rukon (member) of the party and former joint secretary of shariah board of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, who died of old-age complication at 12:30 pm on Tuesday at his residence.
In the condolence message, both the leaders remembered the late Maulana Sirajul Islam, who was a teacher of thousands of Islamic scholars and played a leading role in the Islamic movement and the Islamic education in the country.
He left behind three sons, three daughters, and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Both the leaders prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Bulbul and Dr. Masud also urged the family members to be patient and Allah-fearing in this regard.
Funeral prayers of the deceased eminent Islamic scholar were held on Tuesday at his village home in Lakshmipur District.
