Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka South City Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud have expressed its deep shock at the death of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) vice chairman Barrister Aminul Haque. He was 76.
He breathed his last at a private hospital in the capital at 10:30 am today (Sunday). The former minister and also three-time elected parliamentarian from Rajshahi 1 constituency had been suffering from liver cancer and put on life support at the hospital’s ICU since March 14.
He left behind his wife, one daughter, one son and host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death, they said in a statement.
In the shock message, they said that Haque was very patriotic and a relentless personality and served the society till his death.
Besides, the Jamaat City South chief and secretary prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Bulbul and Dr. Masud also urged the family members to be patient and Allah-fearing in this regard.
Earlier, Aminul, the Minister for Posts and Telecommunications of the BNP-led four-party alliance government, had been undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital for liver cancer.
