Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud today issued message greeting city people on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year 1426.
They wished that Bengali New Year 1426 would bring happiness, peace, and progress for the city people and the nation.
In a statement, they said: “People in this country has been observing the ceremony for a long period of time with much inspiration and spirit amid different festivities. This has been established a ritual to mark the occasion for the Bangladeshi people.”
“A group of ill-motive people in the country has been trying for long to import the western and elite culture tactfully and technically to spread it all stratum of the society for the people of the country who cultivate the social and moral values of our country. This contaminated and foreign culture have been tradition and common phenomenon on the eve of the Bangla New Year celebration, the leaders said.
A group of vested interests people have been trying to destroy our much-cherished culture –social and moral values in the name of Pahela Baishakhcelebration, they stated.
“This Pahela Baishakh 1426 comes in a time, when the nation now is facing and stipulated with various problem like enfeeble and fragile democracy, bad governance, mass-killing, extra-judicial killings, looting, drive for destroying the opposition political parties, snatching the country’s resources, deep-rooted corruption, extortion, one-party rule, misrule, anti-state foreign policy, ruining the voting rights of the people, social and political instabilities, cultural aggression,” the city leaders said.
The country has now been witnessing naked and indecent culture due to the misinterpretation of the historic and long-standing Pahela Baishakh culture, they further said.
They also said Bangla Nababarsha is a universal cultural festival of the Bengali nation for long.
“Bengali culture of thousands of years is imbued with spirit where there is no place of fundamentalism, militancy or terrorism,” both the leaders said.
The culture with moral values of the nation repeatedly and foreign cultures were imposed to divert the language and culture in different directions but the Bengali nation never accepted those, they mentioned.
They urged all to establish a society which will get rid of torture, torments, pain, and pangs and stand truth and justice and conveyed greetings again to all.
They wish eternal and happiness to all in the worldly-life and hereafter life.
