Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said looting, embezzlement and mismanagement have created a ghostly atmosphere in the country even in the Covid-19 situation.
The Jamaat chief said that the Muslims of Bangladesh, like other countries of the world, have observed the Eid-ul-Adha, one of the largest religious Muslims festivals during the coronavirus pandemic this time.
His party is deeply saddened to note that since the outbreak of the Covid-19 in the country, there has been no official transparency, no accountability, no coordination and no management to stem the virus.
His remarks came at a virtual Eid Reunion programme organized by Jamaat Dhaka City South on Tuesday.
Jamaat Dhaka City South ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and also Central Executive Council Member of the party chaired the event.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general and also former lawmaker Mia Golam Porwar and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan addressed the function as the special guests.
Central Working Committee Member and Dhaka City South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud moderated the program.
City assistant secretaries advocate Helal Uddin, Md Delwar Hossain and Abdul Jabber, among others, were present at the function.
Regarding the skills, management during the Covid-19 crisis, the Jamaat ameer Dr Shafiq said no reflection is seen to use it effectively.
Keeping this view in mind, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists at all levels were instructed to celebrate Eid in a slightly different way with everyone in the society, Dr Shafiq points out.
In his speech, former lawmaker Mia Golam Porwar said “We have two things to do at this time. Time is unfettered for all of us. We are all staying in our own home. It is very important to study at this time for self-building initiative.
“Second, it is important to continue our efforts to strengthen our relationship with Allah almighty. To have more and more relationship with Allah, the obligatory naafil prayers, to understand the Qur’an, to stand in tahajjud on the last part of any night, to devote oneself in an effort to make one’s deeds more beautiful are some important initiatives during this trying time”, he added.
Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said, “We must learn from the horrors of this corona situation and return to Allah.”
Quoting the holy Quran, he said “There is no reason for fear or anxiety in any situation on earth for those who obey His command. For this, the Qur’an must be fully obeyed, and only if the provisions of Islam are fully obeyed, then the whole mankind will be able to attain true success. Therefore, there is no other option but to establish Islam at the state level, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Nurul Islam Bulbul said, “We should all be vaccinated in the corona situation by maintaining health awareness in the light of the central guidelines of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.”
“We pray for the forgiveness of the souls of those who died in the Corona situation. I pray to Allah to heal those who are now sick during the trying time”, he said.
At the initiative of Jamaat Dhaka City South, we are ensuring free ambulance service, free medicine delivery, free medical treatment through 24 hours doctors. We have undertaken the task of conducting training activities for corpse management, the central Jamaat leader said.
The volunteer team and the healthcare team of Jamaat Dhaka City South are conducting their activities in the light of the central guidelines, he said.
“We have created the Corona Fund, from which we are implementing round-the-clock activities for the needs of all people”, the Jamaat Dhaka City South chief said.
He appealed to all financially able people of the society to come forward to stand by the people.
